The Traumatic Brain Injury program is a collaborative effort between the Ohio Valley Center for Brain Injury Prevention and Rehabilitation at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and multiple colleges, departments, and agencies across the nation. This collaboration brings the many benefits of interdisciplinary agency knowledge and research directly to you, providing a unique and varied continuing education and professional development experience.
The mission of the Ohio Valley Center for Brain Injury Prevention and Rehabilitation is to conduct research, provide education and develop programs to improve the quality of life of persons who experience traumatic brain injury.
Meet The Program Staff
Dr. John Corrigan, PhD, Professor, Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at The Ohio State University
Dr. John Corrigan is a professor in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at The Ohio State University, and Director of the Ohio Valley Center for Brain Injury Prevention and Rehabilitation. He is the Project Director for the Ohio Regional Traumatic Brain Injury Model System, a multi-center, longitudinal research program funded by the National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research. Dr. Corrigan chairs the Executive Committee of the TBI Model Systems Project Directors.
He is Editor-In-Chief of the Journal of Head Trauma Rehabilitation.
He has served on the Advisory Committee to the National Center on Injury Prevention and Control at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and is a former member of the boards of directors of the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) and the Brain Injury Association of America.
Dr. Corrigan has received local and national awards for his service and research in the field, 2007 Robert L. Moody Prize.
Dr. Jennifer Bogner, PhD, Associate Professor, Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at The Ohio State University
Dr. Jennifer Bogner is the Vice-Chair of Research and Academic Affairs for the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, The Ohio State University. She has worked within the field of traumatic brain injury rehabilitation for nearly 20 years, is a board certified rehabilitation psychologist (ABPP) and Associate Professor in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Ohio State University. She is the Co-Principal Investigator of the Ohio Regional TBI Model System and is currently or has served as Principal Investigator or Co-Principal Investigator on multiple studies addressing issues associated with TBI and substance use disorders, including randomized clinical trials of interventions. Dr. Bogner has authored or co-authored over 40 publications in professional journals and one book chapter. She has presented nationally on topics related to brain injury and serves as the Associate Editor of the Journal of Head Trauma Rehabilitation.
Monica Lichi, MS Ed., PC, MBA, Program Director, Ohio Valley Center for Brain Injury Prevention and Rehabilitation
Monica A. Lichi, MS Ed., PC, MBA is Program Director for the Ohio Valley Center for Brain Injury Prevention and Rehabilitation at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. Monica is also Program Director for the Ohio Brain Injury Program, a statewide program working to advance prevention and treatment that will improve the lives of Ohioans impacted by traumatic brain injury. Monica received her Master of Science in Education and has been a Licensed Professional Counselor since 2007. Additionally, Monica holds a Master of Business Education degree. Prior to joining The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, she had nine years of experience working in the community mental health system of Franklin County.
